Author's Note

This blog marks the return of me playing NBA LIVE game series by EA, a series that was stopped after NBA LIVE 10, the original source of my Spurs blogging/gaming experience. Despite releasing a pair of subpar follow-up installments and general uncertainty about the future of the game series, EA released NBA LIVE 18 this past year.

In the meantime, I had switched over to playing 2K's NBA 2K series, starting with NBA 2K14, then NBA 2K16, and most recently NBA 2K17. Those games were very nice, but I have missed the Live gaming experience, as the games are just different. NBA Live 18 initially seemed to be mostly a miss, rather than a hit, but EA Games has listened to the still-loyal fanbase and allowed roster editing, rather than having gamers rely solely on roster updates.

That, and the game is just-about on-par with NBA Live 10. It'll take some getting used to, and getting good at, but this will add to the challenge and experience. Mostly, I am just thrilled that NBA Live is back. After updating the rosters after this season's trade deadline and adjusting for my own Spurs fantasy roster, I am looking forward to the challenge and surprise of how things may go down!

Thank you, #EAsports.
