Spurs outlast Heat, win 90-85

Patty Mills (16 points, 4 3PTers) had quite the start in south beach, Rudy Gay (13 points, 3 steals) did not, and Pau Gasol (24 points, 12 rebounds) had quite the finish in a tough road win.

Jeremy Lamb chipped in 10 points, 2 of which came in the final minute when he made an uncontested jumper in transition for the go-ahead bucket. Lamb also had a nice fast break dunk after a steal in the 3rd quarter, but the Heat would keep fighting back, despite two strong leads by the Spurs.

Bismack Biyombo had 3 blocks to go with 9 rebounds and 14 points. Kawhi Leonard had just 11 points with 8 rebounds and 6 assists, and Rudy Gay had a much better second half showing.

Meanwhile, Hassan Whiteside had 14 points with 14 rebounds; Dion Waiters had 15 points and Dwyane Wade had 19 points, including a big-time three-pointer that made things interesting late. With the Spurs up by 5 points, the Heat would miss a 3PTer on the inbound as Gasol corralled the ball and dribbled out the clock.

The Spurs shot 7-15 from 3PT distance in the first half, but struggled in the second half, letting Miami back into the mix. However, Goran Dragic had a poor game with just 3-12 shooting, 1-6 from long range. This was not the best-looking victory, but it does bring the Spurs to 4-0 on the season.
